Chapbook Review grew out of a desire to create an online resource where links to online reviews of chapbooks could be gathered together and a listing of chapbook-related publishers, contests, and review sites could be housed. The site isn’t so much a literary journal as it is a space where writers, readers, reviewers, and publishers find a common ground. We also hope to share news of new chapbooks being published from 2020 onward (just send us the cover image, a brief description of author and book, and the publisher’s name and website, and we’ll post it to our site).
Neil Aitken (Founder) is the author of two books of poetry: Babbage’s Dream (Sundress 2016) and The Lost Country of Sight (Anhinga 2008), winner of the 2007 Philip Levine Prize, as well as a poetry chapbook, Leviathan (Hyacinth Girl Press 2016). A former computer programmer, he recently completed his Ph.D. in Literature & Creative Writing at the University of Southern California. He now lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada where he works as a freelance writer / editor / web designer, teaches creative writing privately, and serves as the editor of Boxcar Poetry Review. Other projects include Have Book Will Travel, an online resource and directory for authors, reading series, and venues.
